RONALD L. ZARRELLA ELECTED SPECIAL ADVISER TO TORVEC BOARD

ROCHESTER, NY—- (Marketwire, November 15, 2010) Richard A. Kaplan, Chief Executive Officer of Torvec, Inc. (OTCBB: TOVC) announced today that Ronald L. Zarrella has been elected as a special adviser to the company’s board of directors.

In making the announcement, Mr. Kaplan stated:

“Ron brings extensive knowledge of our industry plus immense talent and experience. His counsel and advice will be of tremendous value to our board.”

In accepting the position, Mr. Zarrella commented:

“I look forward to working with Dick Kaplan and the Torvec board to help bring the company’s innovative and important technologies to a broader market.”


Ronald Zarella has held senior level positions with General Motors where he served from 1994 to 1998 as Vice President and Group Executive for North American vehicle sales, service and marketing and from 1998 to 2001 as President of General Motors North America. From 1985 to 1994, Mr. Zarrella held executive positions at Bausch and Lomb, including President and Chief Operating Officer and a member of the board. Upon leaving General Motors in 2001, he returned to Bausch and Lomb as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer where he served until his retirement in 2008. He retains the title of Chairman Emeritus of the company.

He is currently Chairman of Venomics Corporation, a technology startup in the transportation industry. He is Chairman of the Board of the University of Rochester Medical Center, a Trustee of RIT, a national board member of FIRST Robotics, and an Executive Committee member of the Washington, D.C. based Committee for Economic Development.

Mr. Zarrella has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has attended the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration.
