A/S, or Authorized Shares are the amount of shares that a company CAN sell or trade to raise money to function.

O/S or Outstanding Shares are the amount of shares that have been sold or issued to various entities.

The FLOAT is also a very important indicator to us as shareholders. The float is the amount of "tradeable" shares.

One extremely important aspect not mentioned is the amount of shares held by Management. They own approximately half of the outstanding shares. IF they were to dilute the O/S total, they dilute both their and our values. Whatever they do to us, they do to themselves.

Ergo, we have the same interests as they do and that is to keep the float smaller so that net earnings can have a larger impact on driving the share price higher for all of us.
