Wichita-based High Plains Corp., the seventh largest producer of ethanol in the United States, has officially changed its name.
High Plains was purchased about a year ago by Abengoa Bioenergy Corporation of Seville, Spain. It will now be known as Abengoa Bioenergy Corporation.
High Plains ran three U.S. facilities capable of producing 85 million gallons of ethanol a year.
Traffic to the High Plains Web site is now being forwarded to abengoabioenergy.com. And company e-mail addresses are being standardized -- firstname.lastname@bioenergy.abengoa.com.
