A Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy program. People in Northern Ireland can receive a new treatment for depression and anxiety known as Beating the Blues. The computer-based programme helps those with mild or moderate conditions. It offers an alternative to prescribing anti-depressants, and people with anxiety and depression will now have the choice of using this self-help tool. The National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommended Beating the Blues® as a treatment option for all people seen with mild or moderate depression [Feb 2006]. Access is available through your GP. http://www.nicsohs.gov.uk/microsoft_word_-_update_for_hp_news_-_no_19_-_beating_the_blues.pdf
