tech, I'm surprised you're asking such a question. The "revenue model" has been clear for a long time, and it's part of the reason many are feeling the frustration now extant.


Sales, augmented by recurring revenue streams, instead of merely sales for the sake of sales. That's why Cal painstakingly put together the JVs, the licencee deals, the royalty deals. All that took much longer than just beating the bushes for a sale here, a sale there.

Recurring revenue streams are what create real wealth. Let's take Cisco, for example. Take a close look at where their real profit centres are. Hint: It isn't selling the hardware. It's the recurring revenue streams from software upgrades, service agreements, maintenance and support agreements.
