that's not always true bob
sometimes a company uses S-8 in lieu of cash & a lot of micros are strapped (or growing) & needs services their cash flow cannot accomodate.
dilution in moderation isn't always the end of the world, provided it generates positive fundamental results down the road & isn't just about printing shares to pay cronies, etc.
your shares might be worth less on a relative basis, but in some instances, the company grows its revenues and eventually can turn a profit, eliminating the need for future dilution.
depends on the company & its management IMO.
