Personally I don't think the JV Partners could care less about a short squeeze, nor do I think they are or should be wasting their time with it.

Assuming the JV partners are of the ilk of Codelco, I doubt very seriously they care about FINRA, Reg-SHO, short squeezes, market manipulation or anything else that we penny stock players obsess about in the US markets while waiting for the ink to dry on this joint venture. The JV partners are (and should be) only concerned with the logistics of mining and monetizing the mountain, including, but not limited to how the Alto LiPangue pie will be sliced among all the partners, which raw materials will be mined/owned by whom, what will the drill program look like and how long it will take, the current and future price of gold, copper, silver and moly, the accessibility and availability of physical resources (equipment and human) to mine the mountain, current tax law in Chile, the price of the euro and/or dollar, how they will finance the project, all the legal due diligence that must be executed in order to protect their unique interests, etc.

These companies are in the business of mining and monetizing raw materials so that it adds to the bottom line of their company's balance sheets, not timing the effective date of a multi-billion dollar project so that it might indirectly benefit North American penny stock speculators.

All IMHO, of course.
