Companies are not required to modify the a/s when r/s'ing the o/s. It's totally optional. In most cases I've seen, they kept the a/s the same.

Having an "E" appended to the symbol doesn't mean dilution must stop. A company can no longer file future S-8 registrations though until they get their filings up-to-date. They can still use other ways to dilute.
