under the radar but palladium has outperformed rest of PM group. Supply constrained, demand rising. Why pay 1747 an oz for platinum for your catalytic converter when you can pay 670 for palladium?
For gas cars, palladium is directly substitutable for platinum.
In diesel cars, platinum works better. You have to use twice as much palladium to make the converter work. Still could do it cheaper with palladium at current prices.
China and India need cheap cars. They are using palladium.
