Good morning to all. I'm in Germany so you are all probably still snoozing.

I believe that the Joint Contaminated Surface Detector (JCSD) is what will eventually make it BIG for LEI (and us). Recently, I submitted via email a couple of inquiries and received the following interesting response from one:

"Official reply from ######### states: "The JCSD effort morphed into a "Multi Mission Multi Threat Detector (M3TD) Technology Evaluation" to provide a broader look at threats and technologies. The evaluation program is under review at the JPEO CBD and awaiting approval. Once approved, results of the 18 month evaluation will identify candidate technologies for military utility in various missions (contact and non-contact) supporting the Next Generation Chemical Point Detector and other platform payload requirements as well as any additional mission capabilities identified."

"Note also that DHS is involved in JCSD-like technology in the LISA (R) Man-Portable. This is also an ITT Corp developmental item and employs UV laser and RAMAN technology also. If interested, you could probably find more information from ITT Corp. ".

The "DHS" reference above was to "Department of Homeland Security". I had asked specifically if there was any interest in this technology from DHS. In light of the recent events, it would seem that DHS would be all over this like a stink on s**t.

I need to find a contact at ITT now.

GLTYA and have a great day.
