If Owen were to plead guilty to lower his sentence instead of fighting this in court that would be the biggest admission of guilt he could possibly make. If he really believes everything he and his management team have and are still saying to the shareholders then he will fight this thing in court all the way to the end. If he skips the court process all together then he is telling everybody that he knows he has no chance of proving the allegations of fraud are false. Because they are not false.
