i managed to snatch up some at .008 and was shocked cuz i put in a limit order at .009.

I don't understand what you mean here. The limit buy order is an upper limit, the order can still be executed below the value. It happens all the time, especially when MM's want to give the impression of a 'dump', and is nothing to be shocked about.
