To add even more gloom to your optimistic comment… :) Even if Aurus really intended to buy shares on open market (which is not going to happen, IMO) they wouldn’t be able to move PPS up without attracting other “non-inside” buyers. It’s very tricky with pinkies. I know for sure how another Russian pinky tried to do this. First, they were surprised to learn that SEC rules don’t allow to buy shares at the ask – you have to patiently wait at the bid when somebody sells shares. Second, the next day after announcing a buy back they got a phone call in their Moscow office. Someone called “from California” and offered to sell them as many shares as they want “below market price”. At this point they realized that you can’t beat the beast and joined market manipulators (RS, etc.)
