Here's some of the same logic: we don't need any new antibiotics. The ones we have work for most people against most diseases, and just because there are some diseases that have built up resistance to all antibiotics, and some people have allergies to some of the most effective ones, why should anyone put money into researching better ways to fight diseases?

The above statement makes just as much sense as the ridiculous claims that we don't need new HIV drugs.
