I'm an experienced IT consultant and I've been re-tooling with cloud architectures and related technologies to build a robust IaaS / SaaS solution for a major company here.

Major cloud technologies:
1. The Internet (duh)
2. Web Services Oriented Architecture (SOA)
3. Virtulization (Xen, HyperV, VMWare)

CLDR uses all three above.
