Personally Dana makes me a little sick! He is so full of himself and really believes He is MMA. Think again Dana! MMA Existed long before you and will exist long after! The man has not even competed! Dana get a grip!

MMA existing long before him with many groups and organization that would have continued to exist with or without him. If you really want to give credit to the creators of commercialize MMA for the mainstream Thank Bob Meyrowitz and friends( Primarily the Grace Family ) who Owned and Created the UFC along before there ever was a Dana ( Dr evil / Lex Luther ) White.

Dana had two things going for him which you can't short him on being lucky!

The first being he had two childhood friends both with the last name of Fertitta who were part of a rich well connected family to fund the purchase and keep it afloat while the UFC continued to incur substantial loss and accumulated DEBT to the tune and in the amount roughly 40 Million Dollars under Dana's leadership bringing it to the brink bankruptcy as I understand it.

The second and ultimately second chance for him and the UFC again the family and friends( Craig Piligian, Frank Fertitta III, Lorenzo Fertitta and Dana White did participate but largely in very minor and again supporting role ) creating and funding a little but life and company changing TV Show and series called the Ultimate Fighter which ultimately saved the UFC from sale and/or Bankruptcy. Right time, right place and friends with money! Talk about luck!

While I think Frank Shamrock is a little or alot full of himself as well his accomplishments as competitor are well known and quite possibly second to none.

His accolades and stripes well earned with no less than 34 professional fights in the upper echelon of MMA with the top organizations internationally ( Yeah I know Dana White's history of MMA leaves out Bob Meyrowitz and the Grace Family as well as the all other MMA organizations but...That's Dana! )of the day and since including UFC, Strikforce, K1, Vale Tudo, Rings, World Pankration Championships, Icon Sport, WEC, Pancrase and EliteXC just to name a few.

He has competed with best of the best in the very peaks of their careers including the likes of Bas Rutten, Tito Ortiz, Cesar Gracie, Renzo Gracie, Enson Inoue, Jeremy Horn, Kevin Jackson, Vernon White, Phil Baroni, Nick Diaz and Cung Le just to name a few!

Dana White who again have you fought and how much money did you bring to the table! But you are lucky I will give you that! LOL!

The Lex Luthor persona and Dr Evil wanna be MO has got you by and gotten the Sport some attention but your time has come and gone and need for WWF/WWE type promotion is over! The lead should be by it's competitors past, present and future as it is with every other "Sport" and as long as that is not the case it will not be considered as such until such a time as it is.

Dana has now become a hindrance to the progression of the Sport and its development and reasonable public acceptance to continue its growth! The entertainment value is there and the recognition continues to grow without need for Dana White and/or his tactics and unjustified self promotion rather than the people who do put themselves out there, have and do complete. It remind of the early days of the NHL, MLA and NBA where the owners made all the money and yet contributed so little in terms of the product, the sport and its development. This had to change and so it did and so must MMA to grow!

Many company's have contributed to it's status and growth which have included Proelite's EliteXC, Cage Rage, Icon Sport and SpirtMC and there are some greet stories that need to be told and re-told with out the likes of Dana White creating, writing and re-writing of it's history as he see's fit.

Frank has continued promote the Sport and I think is as good an ambassador of the sport as anybody to this point. He is a decorated competitor, very knowledgeable and very well spoken, like him or not. While he should not be nor is the only spokesman, promoter of MMA he certainly sounds like the kind of guy it needs and more like him are needed for MMA to continue its well justified growth and in order sustain its future as a sport for the masses as it should be.

He is also a Shareholder in Proelite as I understand it! Let's hope he and others are on board for the new Proelite! In my mind great he has a vested interest in its future so why not!

Go Frank Shamrock!

Go Proelite!
