Fannie Mae-No Politics (FNMA)

Would smb like to help me to get rid of bad dreems!! I have scared to invest in FNMA shares because people wrote on a message board( I don't remember a name of the board ) about one case which can be nightmare for shareholders. It was something like Gov. can kill shares of FNMA and FMCC. I couldn't understand much from the story and probably here some investors can explain if this nightmare can come true. I really, really don't want to count zero on my account. Thank you for your help.
