As a friend of mine suggested, and I repeated here on this board I think it is possible that the preferreds were issued to create more shares which can be shorted against.

So, if you have a couple of PRs come out that cause the stock price to go up and then you start shorting you don't need buyers to make money as I understand it.

Does this sound right or possible to you?
