The six month extension is retroactive to the end of the previous extension on September 14, 2010. It was a decision of the Joint Development Authority, ERHC does not have insight into why the discussions took a couple weeks longer to conclude.

From me:
1) I assume the 6 month extension starts ticking from the Sept 14, 2010 date, correct? Or does it start ticking from today?
2) Will ERHC provide any idea or comment on why Block 2 took longer than the other Blocks? Was there anything special about Block 2, which differentiates it from the other blocks?
