Distilled water is PURE WATER and has a freezing point of ZERO
degrees Centigrade or 32 Fahrenheit. The addition of an anti-freeze compound (ethylene glycol or propylene glycol) may
not interfere with the electrolysis process and allow operation
down to -40 F (or thereabout). Also, the water reservoir may
be a very small vessel (less than 1 gallon) so it would be easy
to insulate or heat above freezing with a small heater operating
off the battery (when engine is not running) or battery charger (when running)
