Malicious Adware being distributed by Pinksheets website ??...,
or perhaps iHub ???
I've all-of-a-sudden been getting bombarded by 1,000's of Financial ads on my Mac...
I've got my Pop-up Blocker enabled, so they don't show-up on my screen but I'm seeing these files come thru by the 1,000's in my web history file.
Opening a few of these files, I see that they have all the earmarks (logos & all) of ads that are common on Pinksheets (& often on iHub)....E-Turd, Scott-Turd etc. These are the only 2 websites I've visited w/these type of ads.
I opened up the file source on a few of these & see that they all have one thing in common...they all come via: /adserver.adtechus.com/
In an effort to thwart these irritating files (& minimize my RAM memory), I went into my cookies & tracked-down "adserver"...
I deleted it from my cookies and voila, no more unwanted Adware. What a hassle.
Pinksheets has recently revamped their entire website format, so this may (or may not) be an anomaly that they aren't aware of or haven't addressed yet but....I won't be visiting their website anytime soon because of this. Thats kind of a bummer because despite Pinksheets many misgivings, they are still a valuable source of basic DD for BB & pennystocks.
Now; If I could just find a way of 'deleting' the barrage of ads showing that ugly Skag on the Progressive Insurance commercials (making a damn fool out of her obnoxious self) from every single media source I go to (my 'mute' button is getting worn-out), I'd be a happy man. Given her complete absence of talent or intelligence, she must be a relative of the owner to have gotten that job... a sign of the times perhaps....the Palin-ese dumbing-down of America.
