Not Everyone posts their picks. Although everyone is welcome to, not everyone does because many are just uncomfortable doing so because they're perhaps afraid of posting a losing a trade. So that acts as an internal control, if you will, in ensuring that most of the trades posted are profitable. So what you end up with is the more seasoned traders posting their trades on a regular basis and everyone else following along and making profits along side. However, I don't want to discourage anyone from posting their trades because another purpose of OHP is to learn from each others mistakes because we're a team here with the same goal of maximizing profits. For example I had a really bad stretch of about 5 or 6 losing trades in a row a little while ago and all those trades were posted but I learned from those mistakes and tried to impart the lessons I learned to everyone here so they could avoid them going forward as well. Again I want to reiterate though to expect every trade to be profitable is simply unrealistic. However the beauty of trading is as long as your winners are bigger than your losers in profit dollar terms, you come out ahead.
You asked about the # of losing trades posted, which is a fair point, but I prefer to look at it in terms of trade quality in profit dollar terms. For example here are all my trades for the past week, For efficiency's sake I'll just list the sells and omit commission which is usually a negligible factor for me because I get 10 free trades a month and after that my comission is just $4.50 a trade, but all the corresponding buys were posted in real time as well.
The purpose of the above exercise was to show how one good trade can make up for several bad trades and vice versa so when it comes to trading, it's more important to think in terms of quality over quantity.
