There aren't enough retail holders of this stock to make a dent in what you are saying.
50% of the float is in the hands of institutions and hedge funds. And the algorithms are trading a rather large portion of the tradeable float.
Now, if Ariad had 10 million shares outstanding, you would have something. At 120 million +/-, taking your shares out of the "Street" isn't going to do anything.
