One big application for hyperthreading is webserving and database serving. IIS and SQL Server both take advantage of multiple CPU's.

The problem is that there are no multi-CPU P4 motherboards out there (that I know of) and that if there were, they'd be huge because of the size of that CPU.

I would expect that most of the market is like me in this regard: If we're in the market for hyperthreading, we also want multiple CPUs in the same box. That's why our webserver runs on Xeons, not P4.
