Yes, our "service" comes out of our real estate taxes also, but that doesn't stop them from calling on the phone demanding more and going door to door demanding more......The guy from the local dept rang my doorbell on a Saturday morning, I explained I already give a substantial amount in my real estate taxes, his response was, "that's not enough for us"
I replied, "It's NEVER enough, you all just keep buying and buying more "toys", you have to have the latest and greatest.
And then the "overkill" when they respond:
A little girl got her hand stuck in a swimming pool drain, 2 feet of water, no danger of drowning, I counted over 12 rescue vehicles.........one would have been enough. How much in tax dollars were spent on that one call? There are 3 firehouses within a 2-3 mile radius of my house, They all show up every time it seems.
