I personally spent 20+ years in the airline industry, and my wife worked for JAL. They made mistakes, but yes, the airline industry is rife with mistake making, poor choices in its history.
JAL has a lot of pride. With the new man in charge, they will come back. It will take time. They will be a leaner company because of all this. ANA has taken a good chunk of the market, and now ANA is also starting a low cost carrier variation. We shall see if this works. If done right, there is a need for a intra-island carrier. Once again, GLTY....
