People shift away from HAART efficacy. HIV mutates and shifts. There is also evidence that it recombines with other HIV and some influenzas. The HAART is toxic, slowly wears on human systems and requires constant additions and changes to it's make up. 13% of HAART recipients experience life threatening side effects within a year of starting therapy.

What part of the above is "life long?" Maybe life long means HAART therapy until death?
