13132 Buys vs. 33332 Shares reported sold short and not closed out end of day

Anybody care to venture a guess as to how the MM's sold well over double the buy-side shares as short sales ?? The numbers don't work.

I know we have been tracking well over 50% of the daily sales as short sales to fill orders.

This has been the based of the tight float and a shortage of immediate available shares that are in the float. The MM's can close out some of those sales every time some folks are selling.

But I am completely perplexed as to how they can exceed the amount of buys today.

This is getting very, very interesting.
