Agreed Ragmuff, Nice Post. Transgenics is the key. Any spider. This is a gene splicing break through...12 different kinds of silk displayed from one type of spider (but it could have been from any type)

If I have it right, those cocoons are the actual silk. So if the strength or the percentages are there (and I believe it is) thats the beauty and key to mass production. 20 worms = 1 kilometer of silk. I have to believe they have surpassed Kevlar, even equal would work to publish, Anything past that is just more gravy.

Then to boot, its not a matter of splicing every worm/moth, the offspring will produce spider silk without any more engineering.
(time to google silk worms and find out what that exponential growth will be)

Not sure I want any transgenic Black Widows running around, lol
But thats where transgenics gets dark. This technology is not limited to spiders, silk worms and silk.

But these guys are smart, spider silk has been "The" coveted invention and could put KBLB at the top of a Multi Billion Dollar Industry.

Appreciate all the work you and others have done here.

Good Luck to All
