That is a Hoot. They happen to be a necessary evil who will move the Bid/Ask to best suit them. They provide operating capital for start up businesses, in exchange for shares that they can then manipulate the price to make their profits. The MM is Not Your Friend. They will drop the price to steal your shares and then push the price back up and sell them at a profit. Can I prove this, No, but I watch them do it almost every day. jmho.
