echos - OT: I'm not a paid member here so can't reply to messages. All this is IMHO of course, it's music.

Greatest bands are not necessarily best at the time, they just seem to endure, pack the large venues with huge crowds, have first rate opening bands, and create unmatched energy. I've seen all that I would consider great with exception of U2 (will see them in April).

There is a huge difference between Stones and the rest, hoping U2 has similar aura, but probably not. Best Stones concert for me was the 72 Exile On Main Street tour in Chicago with Stevie Wonder. Wonder had just released Talking Book (Superstitious was the single and the album is considered by some to have started a revolution in RB/Funk/Soul and transformed Motown). Wonder was incredible, so good I was expecting a let down when the Stones came on...wrong...from the first note of Brown Sugar they overpowered the crowd - almost a violent scene. Musically preferred Jeff Beck, Small Faces/Faces, Cream/Clapton/Bind Faith/Derek & Dominoes and Traffic but Stones concerts were best. Mountain was also a good concert!

DMB definitely the best music being played live (for a long while) although it's time for some new music from them to liven up the act. Much preferred Matthews and "Friends" over the last couple of DMB concerts. "Friends" did a great job on their covers of Gabriel, Wonder, Beatles.

Anyone hear remember The Flock? I'm looking for their music.
