The people worried about BEHL being able to produce Astaxanthin have to realize it is a lot easier then it sounds. A lot of algaes and planktons will produce Astaxanthin when they are stressed. A Red Tide is caused when the plankton in the water become so dense that they starve the water of O2. This causes the plankton to turn red and die. Red tides are very common in sunny months in Calif.

DF is basicly causing a controled red tide. I dont think it will be quite as hard as people think.
