"Jack, as you know (lol) you cannot prevent shorting by simply "instructing" your Broker to not allow anyone to borrow your shares"....

Oh, yes you can NXXI..You can instruct your Broker to put a LOAN EXEMPT RESTRICTION on your margin account..You can do this verbally but a written request is recommended..If you have a cash account your Broker cannot lend your shares anyway..
This locks up the manipulators..
