No disrespect Docent, as many have already directed & suggested to you, your inquiry may be best served talking with the experts who can relate most closely with your concerns & best answer ur questions.
Dong Feng apparently approves of these units, #3 Auto Manufacturer in the world, or I'd doubt they'd agree to include them on the Hoss they intend to manufacture according to last nights PR; and, I would suspect that this ~16Billion$ company probably has a few qualified engineers on staff.
I would like you to consider PM'g members, e-mailing the company &/or calling HLNT directly. This, afterall is an INVESTMENT BOARD, more suited to matters of finance, profit, investing & money than the nuts & bolts of what any particular company may produce.
After all, I do not know how a cell phone, GPS, fax, or computer works (in any great detail) but I sure do appreciate that they do & so I am a consumer!!
Same with this device, many posters here have personally tested & use the device & know it works. Dong Feng after approximately 9months of engaging in dialog, visits to the US, & testing with HLNT have obviously seen enough to decide they want to partner up with this company. Moreover, they intend to put this technology/units in diesel operated vehicles within ~6months from now!! And that's just for starters! Frankly, technically speaking, that is good enough for me... & I suspect, most others here.
I honestly have marginal interest in how this thing works personally, & entertaining discussions about these matters may be better left to those whose expertise the company & DF will come to rely upon shortly. Don't you agree?
For me, I don't care to know all there is to what my doctor does, I have no desire to go to Medical School, but I am sure glad he/she did & does--- and that's where I go when I have medical questions-- to the experts. This is a stock Message Board mainly for investors, not engineers per se, and may not be best suited to answer your questions. jmho fwiw
