As an early member of the original "Gang of Six" steering committee, I've witnessed first-hand how much effort went into gaining recognition by the Trustee and the court, and I have nothing but admiration for the people that have gotten us this far. Moving forward, the newly-formed EHC is positioned to set ground-breaking precedent for share-holders rights in B/K proceedings. I suspect these efforts will be cited for many years to come.

By their very nature, as volunteers, their integrity is ensured. Their singular motivation is to advance share-holder value and, by so doing, gain as share-holders themselves. In assuming the mantle of a recognized committee, however, they have sacrificed considerable rights as "free" traders. Let's all try to keep this in perspective as the case grinds-on.

I think we all now have an understanding as to the proprietary nature of Committee strategy, and the need to maintain a pristine playing-field. While B/K share-holder participation may become common-place in the future, this case will no-doubt be subject to ruthless scrutiny. If any fault is to be found, it should only be on the side of being a little over-cautious.

I take no small amount of pride in having participated in the early moments of this effort, and I had no qualms in stepping aside as I watched this grow beyond my talents. We are in emminently capable hands, and I trust them without hesitation. I can only ask that we all be patient as this moves forward. The Committee is very-much aware of their responsibilities, and they take them quite seriously. Let's also be aware of the work-load they've assumed, and if things occasionally get a little "testy", we should be understanding.

Keeping these things in mind, we have the privilege of participating in one of the first share-holders rise to power. This could honestly become a story to tell the grand-kiddies about...
