Karel, while I concur with your post, there is an alternative: Buy only out-of-the-money LEAPS. When you buy such a LEAP you just KNOW that all the money you plunked down will most likely be lost. That keeps you from buying too much. However, sometimes you will have a big winner on hands: SELL!. Add the cash to your horde, and let the games continue. The idea is the same: you win and loose some. Only this time you "KNOW" that you will have lot's of losses. This makes it easier to accept. I heard that Nassim Taleb (a famous investor) works this way.
