Exclearing is simply the processing of trades while by-passing the DTC. It is the way all trades used to be cleared. It also allows a broker dealer to avoid putting up required very large additional deposits for the clearing of large amounts shares in low priced penny stocks. It means that physical certs have to be manually transferred as opposed to doing everything electronically through the DTC. The trades are reported to the tape the same way any other trades are reported
