I would think they would say they cant comment regardless, but if they are aware that another public company may be getting an advantage through rumors using their name, they may say "we have no agreements with this company."

Coincidentally, their latest acquisition, Callaway, sent me just such an answer last year, pre adidas days, when I asked them about a distributorship rumor concerning another company.

In the end, 2 realities remain.

1) it is a totally unfounded rumor started by a poster on another website but one many chose to run with regardless of its genesis.

2) If it were true, they would not be dealing with NSPT, but rather with Newron Designs, the owner of the patent.

Either way, I will repost their answer, should I get one, and failing that, I will email the CEO about its crappy IR department and its inability to demonstrate a modicum of courtesy to people contacting them.
