Agreed. But I will spill it, why not?

First the disclaimer - the following is an "interpretation" of what I took away from my call, I do not claim it to be precisely accurate; I did not tape record the conversation, maybe they did and can provide a more accurate transcript. That said:

My question was strictly surrounding the website. I read the relevant passage and asked whether it was true that Bomu was deemed commercial and whether it did indeed contain oil.

The response, as I interpret it, was simply that, what was on the website about Bomu was intended as any website for any company is intended, and that is to describe accomplishments, basically things, which the company is proud of.

As for any other specifics regarding Bomu and commerciability, I was asked to put it in an e-mail to Lucy, and I should typically get a response by Monday at the latest.

That's it. So while not "ecstatic news", I felt that if SNP is proud of its accomplishment with Bomu, then Bomu cannot be a dry well (my interpretation), and that to me is good news. Others may interpret the accomplishment with Bomu as having been under budget and on time, for example, but I got the impression it is more.

In any case, here's my e-mail to Lucy (and a half dozen others at Sinopec):

To whom it may concern:

I read the following statement on your website:

http://english.sinopec.com/about_sinopec/subsidiaries/oilfields/20080326/3024.shtml

“In 2009, one of our main activity is on BOMU-1 well in JDZ-2 Block, Nigeria, including drilling-geology designing, engineering designing, analysis-while-drilling and researching on post-drilling reserve appraisal. The well gains a commercial oil & gas flow. It was the first breakthrough in oil and gas exploration in SINOPEC’S oversea deep water drilling operation.”

Would you be so kind to please confirm that the English translation of the statement above is correct? In other words, what I would very much like to know is, does Sinopec believe that the Bomu-1 well in JDZ – 2 Block has been deemed to be commercial and that it contains oil?

Also any comments on the other drilling prospects in the JDZ by Sinopec/Addax would also be very helpful.

Thank you very much,

Krombacher
