I bought mine on ASX using Interactive Brokers. They let you convert to Aussie $ and buy in Australia. But commissions are not fixed and can be quite high for low priced stocks.

I tried buying the pinksheet thru Schwab and they said they had to use their foreign desk and charge me $100 per. I declined to throw my money out the window to Schwab.

Ameritrade charges flat fee still on pinksheet version. Bought some for relatives over there.
