Poor Wencor!

They know nothing of the propensity of some shareholders to take it upon themselves to educate the media about the superiority of any product that has e.Digital involvement.

B-lunist says he sent the following note to a TV station that ran a story on the American Airlines test of the PEA. Written article (there is also a video of the report): http://www.news8austin.com/content/headlines/?ArID=131187&SecID=2

B-lunist's e-mail: http://www.agoracom.com/nonmemforum/msgreview.asp?id=381822&refid=381802&orig=381802

Any reader of yhr non spell-checked note can see that the writer has a pro digEplayer agenda. Did B-lunist give his full name and identity himself as an e.Digital shareholder (the company that manufactures digEplayers for Wencor)? If not, his note would likely be construed as a lame marketing attempt by someone from Wencor, since that's the link given. Wencor is a professional company and I'm sure that they would not appreciate his attempt to represent them to the media.

Haven't the zealots learned anything from the former fiascos they've caused by similar actions? Have people forgotten about the angry reaction of Walter Mossberg of the WSJ when he was spammed with e-mails about how the not-yet-produced Odyessy 1000 was superior to the iPod?

Many of B-lunist's claims are unproven or outright false. It's one thing to spin embellished tales on a stock chatboard, but it is quite another to try to take those "tales" to the media as supposed facts, especially when they involve falsehoods used to belittle a competing product (such as that it lacks security, has poor screen resolution and was simply a "quick" design to get a product on the market). These may be his opinions or understandings, but they are not facts.

The note - BTW, the zealots often find a way to insult the writers for their lack of understanding (see bold).

This was my response to news8austin

The above story recently appeared. If you want to do a follow up, Alaska Air is now flying into Austin I believe. They INTRODUCED the first Portable IFE device. It was designed from the ground up to be an IFE device.

The unit that American Airlines is using is much heavier and if a modified laptop with the ports covered up. It lacks the security that's in Alaska Airlines digEplayer. The image quality on the digEplayer is much better the the unit on American Airline. The digEplayer has been tested by four major movie studios and they found the security to be unbreakable.

For detail information contact WENCOR. The PEA you wrote about was not first. It was a quick design to have something on the market so that the digEplayer does not run away with market share.

try the link below - give credit the the First and the most widely used. Hard to believe you could write about IFE technology and not mention the best and most widely used unit.
