Say I work in IT, and I get a call from you about an application that I support but for an issue that I can't address - say I have to contact the vendor of the application - you might ask me for a timeline, right? You want to know how long you can expect it to take me to get you an answer. Suppose I tell you I "expect" to have an answer to your issue by the end of the week based on my previous interaction with the vendor. But let's say, Monday rolls around and I still haven't heard back from the vendor and haven't said anything to you, because I still haven't heard from the vendor. Are you going to blame me for that? Is it my fault? You going to blame me, because I told you an estimate, prefaced by saying I expect but not certain and based on my previous interaction with that vendor?

Rest assured. I hope all of the complainers here are happy, because you can be damned sure that SRSR will NEVER again give you even close to a remote timeline in the future. We're most certainly back to the "relatively near future" and "shortly" type statements. It's probably for the best though.

It's all IMO
