LIPA: Hurricane Earl prep cost $30M; rates may rise
September 7, 2010 By MARK HARRINGTON mark.harrington@newsday.com
The Long Island Power Authority, already $72 million in the red for 2010 storm restoration costs, spent another $30 million last week to respond to Hurricane Earl and wouldn't rule out a rate increase to recoup those costs, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Now this is just for long island, the storm even though not a major hurricane hit to the US caused millions of dollars worth more of damage in other places but not one word about anything from NSMG.Think long and hard about why.It has nothing to do with hurricanes not coming,it has to do with them doing nothing but selling shares and getting what they can but many just fail to realize this. They are supposed to be making money on damage and this clearly shows there was damage done but still no peep from NSMG.
