Vinny--again, what it boils down to is that while you should *never* grow *complacent* about security/virus issues (back up regularly, use your firewall, don't give out passwords, etc etc), the problem is *literally* thousands of times worse on Windows machines than on Macs. Run Virex or NAV on the "it can't hurt" logic; install the occasional security update, and you should be just fine.

On the Windows side, you can do everything I listed (firewall, antivirus, security updates, etc.) and you're *still* very likely to get taken down. Plus, you have to spend a LOT more time dealing with those precautions (updates etc.).
