For all those reasons, Richie,
and the one reason that really poked me right between the eyes was the cheap packaging of the detectors.
My take is that it's only a matter of time before science comes up with a commercial electronic sniffer that will ultimately make all this chemical detector stuff quite obsolete.
I was drinking the coolaid for a long time, too.
Well, I can't say I've wised up (INIX), as you know.

I do want IDTA to succeed and keep a jaundiced eye on it, hoping for some startling news that shakes the PPS loose. But for all the hoping the dilution is a killer.
