Guardian Technologies' PinPoint Receives Innovation Technology Award from Russia
s International Security & Safety Technologies Forum

Business Editors / Defense Writers

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2005--
Guardian Technologies International, Inc. (OTCBB:GDTI)
and Equity International, are pleased to announce that Guardian
Technologies' PinPoint treat identification and alert system was
awarded the "Innovation Technology Award for Non-Intrusive
Explosive/Threat Detection" by the Security and Safety Technologies
Forum in Moscow. The U.S.-Russian Homeland Security Trade Mission
was led by U.S. Congressman Curt Weldon(R-PA), and Vladimir Vasiliyev,
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security of the Russian
Federation and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Security and
Safety Technologies International Forum hosted by Equity
International. As a participant in the Trade Mission, Guardian
Technologies was afforded an opportunity to demonstrate PinPoint's
advanced imaging informatics technologies for threat detection and
identification. Approximately 50,000 government officials and homeland
security decision makers and 500 exhibitors from more than 30
countries attended the event.
"We are thrilled that the Russian scientists and government
officials overseeing the Moscow Forum deemed our imaging technology to
be innovative, effective, and worthy of such a significant honor,"
said Robert Dishaw, Guardian Technologies President. "We view this
award as further independent validation, by international experts, of
the superiority of PinPoint's technology in accurately detecting a
broad range of threat items. Based on the overwhelming activity and
interest in our technology from the homeland security personnel of
Russia, as well as several other foreign governments, there is an
immediate and urgent need for our technology in the areas of airports,
ports, transportation hubs, and even private corporations."
PinPoint is a broad-based automated detection application that can
be deployed on baggage scanners, cargo scanners, body scanners,
medical scanners, and for image analysis of satellite images. The
technology can detect and identify explosives, guns, and thousands of
other types of threat items from all forms of digital imagery - still,
video, or hyper spectral. Guardian has mapped the DNA of many types of
materials and compounds, much the same as geneticists have mapped the
human genome.
"As co-host of the U.S.-Russian Trade Mission on Homeland Security
at the Forum, Equity International believes that the U.S. technologies
being presented were readily accepted by the Russian security
marketplace," said William Loiry, Equity International President.
"This was extremely evident by the award bestowed upon Guardian
Technologies and by the number of attendees visiting the booths of the
leading U.S. technology companies in the United States pavilion. The
U.S-Russia Homeland Security Trade Mission marks the first historical
involvement between industry and governments in the global fight
against terrorism. The event was a success from all aspects and it
serves to build momentum for the 2005 Homeland and Global Security
Summit that Equity International is hosting at the Washington, D.C.
Convention Center, March 1-3."
