Agree with you rubber duck.

Most americans see pictures of Alaska and think Canada-wide is like that. Eastern Canada is similarily mild as Most of Northeastern USA.

Applying US logic to New York versus Seattle, New York could be thought to be like a frigid zone most of the fall and winter. However New York is a lot warmer than Alaska.

SO quit talking about Newfoundland being the "Far Cold North". It is not and never will be in our lifetime. It is relatively cold to Seattle but not much colder than New York/Maine in the fall/winter.

I am a US citizen who lived 35+ years in Canada so I know what I am talking about. Any good mining company would not shut down in winter if they have any road clearing equipment.
