I'm thinking if the ashes are still there - It's time to bring that dog home.

Buy your Mom a lovely perennial that blooms, plant it for her, and bury her dogs ashes nearby. Maybe a tree? But do something.

Sometimes it takes someone else to do the things we need to do. ;)
