years back people use to watch the McClellan Oscillator for a major move signal. this occurred anytime the oscillator moved less than 3 points in a day. it did not indicate direction, just that normally a 100 pt INDU move would occur within 3 days. NYSE and NASD Mc oscillators both moved less than 3 pts today. ( i do not know if this signal still works as it did in the late 80's/90's).
