Not at all. It's Roofie and his co-defendants who keep asking for extensions. And because Federal prosecutors are involved in a lot of cases at one time, actual court events have to be scheduled ahead months in advance. If one is postponed, then it's another few months before they'll try again.
It's annoying, but it's how the legal system works. I know of one penny stock perp who managed to put off his trial for about four years simply by changing lawyers now and then.
